THE GENTLE ART

The word Jiu Jitsu means “soft art” due to its principle of giving in to win, using the weight and strength of your opponent against himself and, also, creating for each technique a leverage that allows you to move an opponent much stronger and heavier. This guiding principle is to make the most efficient use of mental and physical energies.

Why Jiu Jitsu?

Jiu Jitsu brings the practitioner the certainty that if he needs it, he will have no problem defending himself. However, everyday life in the gym will bring much more than just self-confidence in defending yourself, the atmosphere of friendship and companionship, permeated by discipline and respect, brings our students extremely pleasant and fun classes.

What are the Benefits?

Sport is essential at all stages of your life. And it positively impacts the aging process. Practicing physical activities is the best option for quality of life.

It improves your reflexes, improves cardiovascular capacity, works on breathing, reduces stress and improves well-being. Benefits your body and mind. It’s a terrific way to tone and firm your body and reap the health benefits of martial arts at the same time.

Studying martial arts provides you with a physical challenge combined with a mental one – and teaches you to defend yourself, too.

Are you ready to feel new levels of self-confidence and pride?

Is it for everyone?

It doesn't matter if you've never stepped on a mat before.  Some people suspect that Jiu Jitsu is a sport only for competitors.

You can do Jiu Jitsu for different purposes (you like martial arts classes, want to learn how to defend yourself, lose weight, have time to enjoy with friends or be a champion). Jiu Jitsu is for you!

Paulo Santana BJJ's teaching methodology conducts its learning in classes divided into specific levels. We have Kids(3-5), Kids(6-12), Beginner, Advanced, No-Gi, Open Mats, and private lessons for adults. Find out about the our program!
